Core Area
The EDL program is primarily designed to promote and serve the development
of environmental diplomacy professionals in regions of Asia and Africa.
It has three core areas of focus: (1) water resources, water treatment,
and water environmental policy; (2) biodiversity and bio-resources; and
(3) public health, epidemiology, and medical policy.
Learning about these core areas extends well beyond the basic acquisition
of knowledge about science and technologies. It equally entails the enhancement
of professional skills for the communication, administration, and diplomatic
negotiation challenges that are continually encountered in all three areas
of concern.
