SUSTEP Program Introduction in Indonesia
Mar 18 , 2013

The Japan Educational Seminar (“Global 30” Project) was held at Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia on 26 January and at the Institute of Technology Bandung on 27 January. Dr. N. Hotta (Assoc. Prof.) attended the seminar, along with professors from the Graduate School of Comprehensive Human Sciences, from the University of Tsukuba (UT). Dr. Hotta also visited Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) on 28 January, after the seminar, to discuss the SUSTEP program with faculty members of IPB.

Sixteen universities from Japan participated in the Japan Educational Seminar. The seminar was quite successful, with more than 5,000 students from Indonesia in attendance. The student participants included high school, college, and graduate students; all of them were eager to learn more about potential career opportunities. The seminars consisted of lecture presentations and individual interviews at each university’s booth. Dr. Hotta made a presentation to introduce the ICEP programs, EDL program, Waste Management Expert course, and the upcoming SUSTEP program, in addition to providing a general introduction to UT. It was a great pleasure to see so many students interested in UT and its programs.
