The EDL Program invited Prof. Mitsuo Ichikawa, Professor emeritus of Kyoto University/Director of Japan Monkey Centre as a lecturer for the 18th EDL seminar on Friday, January 20, 2012. He talked about indigenous people in the Central Africa, called Pygmies. In his lecture, he raised issues about how we can achieve a good balance between the conservation of the African tropical rain forest and the indigenous people there. He mentioned their culture, society, food etc. and the problems related to environmental issues.
